1975 john deere 2030 filter relief valve

I lost all the hydraulics on my tractor. Rockshaft, loader, power steering, etc. Independent PTO still works. Do not have hi lo or reverser. Main pump not getting fluid from transmission pump. Replaced filter and cleaned screen. Screen was covered with the filter material that was coming out of the filter. Still doesn't work. How can I check the filter relief valve and are ther any other things to check before splitting to examine the transmission pump? Thanks in advance.

Remove plug 15 then pull hyd filter relief valve(keys 10-12) to be sure no parts are stuck in trans case. I will suggest to check frt pump hyd coupler to be sure it's not stripped & pump shaft is turning when engine is running. Does your tractor hyd pump have a destroking screw? If pump has a DS screw I advise with engine running turn DS screw CW until it bottoms out then turn DS screw fully CCW. If any debris is stuck in stroke control valve it might let any stuck debris get out of valve. What type of valve(ind or scv) controls FEL?

The hydraulics work if I put fluid in the top reservoir. Had to do that to get my loader off the ground. Not familiar with the type of valves for the loader. It has two levers.

Is the FEL control valve mounted on loader? If so remove return hose from tractor then aim open return hose in hyd filler hole behind seat with both lever in neutral start engine & no oil should exit open hose. If oil exits hose there is a problem inside control valve.

Try hydraulics with PTO engaged and disengaged. I had the PTO clutch line break (it's internal) and the trans pump would have a leak to sump when PTO was engaged, so no hydraulics worked. Disengaged PTO and hydraulics worked. I had to split the tractor to replace the broken line. I should have also replaced the PTO brake line too, while tractor was split.

Does anyone know how the filter relief valve comes out? I took the the bolt out and I can see it but I don't know how to pull it out. It doesn't want to move

Pull valve out with lone nosed pliers. Try turning valve in trans case bore.

I still cant budge it. I started the tractor with the plug out to see him if any more fluid would come out and quite a bit of fluid did come out. Would that indicate that my trans pump is working and that the valve is stuck or is there something else on there that could be moving that would force the fluid out.

I put the plug back in and started it up and now it's all working. Must have worked the valve loose trying to get it out. I'm not going to question it. Just glad I dont have to split it. Especially this time of year.
