1974 Case tractor 480-B Diesel Engine Info

A friend just bought a '74 Case (I think it's a 480-B)...but it's got a "188" Diesel engine. Anyone know anything about this engine? Who made it? HP? Is it a good engine? Any reputation?

Case made engine,around 45 hp probably. Good overall engines for their size.
