so finally had decent day to do some work out doors and I noticed a little oil spot and decided to find out the source. while I was under the old mule I notice a whole in the bell housing and I could see the clutch, from the amount of crud I dug outta her I assumed it wasn't supposed to be open. so I wrapped it up and hit computer and yup as I thought there should be an inspection plate; after a whole lot of research I got the plate part covered. the problem is I cant for the life of me find any specific bolt for the 250 in fact none at all list as being used for the 250. can anyone help me with bolt information for the inspection plate, I would greatly appreciate it.

Your tractor was made in England between '83 and -'86. Go to the Massey Ferguson/AGCO website and look up the parts manual for that model. You should be able to find some info there. If not measure the bolt holes. They'll most likely be between 1/4" and 3/8". Buy a 1/4". 5/16", and a 3/8" in coarse and fine thread and maybe the metric equivalents. You should be able to get the correct size by trial and error. As far as length, use a nail ort something in the hole to see what the grip length should be.Good luck!

i have operated a 250 massey for the past 20 years and found her a most reliable tractor----all bolts are metric---also if your reside in a cold winter climate be sure u use a block heater for cold starts..good luck
