1972 Ford 3400 question

Does anyone know what this wire is for coming out of my shift cover? It was connected as a loop but broke apart.

That is going to the neutral safety switch. The wires coming from the harness that are supposed to go to that are looped to bypass the switch allowing the tractor to be started in gear. The switch is under the cover
