Hi all, My tractor started to pour fluid out of the pto . I pulled the shaft out of center housing and I can pull the shaft out of bearing by hand without removing anything. Is this normal or is something missing or worn out? there was slack from front to back before removing but not bearing slack. Thanks also the collar was out of housing before I even removed it from tractor.what should I do?

If it is loose on the shaft, you might be able to knurl the shaft a bit to get the collar and bearing to stay in place.

I had the same issue on a 4 cylinder Ford 4000- the sleeve/collar had slipped sideways on the shaft. I had to heat it to get it to expand enough to slide it back to the correct position. If the sleeve and bearing aren't tight, then the seal won't be tight enough.
