Just below the dash on the left hand side of the sonsole, say directly left of the Quick Start port. There is a small pull knob that seems to be stuck but even if it wasn't I still ahve absolutely no idea what it is supposed to be for. I see a linkage heading down behind it but cant see where it goes. Does anyone have any idea what it is for?

I will try to post a picture of it tonight or this afternoon if i can

Maybe to give a shot of ether?

Or is it a throttle control, for setting idle?

A picture when you get it will help too.

Gas or Diesel?

The knob on LH side of dash is a release for the catch on trans disconnect lever also on LH side outside of dash. This disconnect releases trans dampner(drive) clutch to aid starting in very cold weather. When released trans will not have power transferred to it. Back when I worked for a JD dealer I made several service calls on 4020's just to find out someone inadvertently had pulled disconnect lever back.

If you look at the post after yours Jim it shows a linkage and lever assembly. Ummm I dont seem to have that lever. There is however another assembly. I will take a couple of photos tonigth last night I was unloading the steel for my new 84 inch bucket I am building.

The hole farthest to the frt is the one that I think the handle should fit into.
One of the holes is the bracket part # R34743 BRACKET that bolts to side support is designed to attach the tube for a headlight when tractors were ordered less fenders. Is there any disconnect linkage under the dash?

This knob only comes with the Powershift if anyone else is out looking in their shed. Just use the clutch pedal with a syncro

Does anyone with a power shift have a picture of the lever installed?
