currently looking....
Looking at a 1967 135 Diesel. Local M/F has one for sale. Fresh paint, tires look good, 2200 hours.
I will take a look at it tomorrow and drive it. Dealer did send me 4 photos and first impression is positive.
My concern is it being diesel. Have no experience with diesel and am concerned about the cost to maintain and repair.
Dealer is asking $4900. It has 5 gauges on dash, which makes it the upgraded model. Also, exhaust is under tractor which I want for brushhogging trails in my woods.
Thanks!

Welcome, that is the same tractor I have. Mine has 5100 hours and runs very smooth. I paid 2500.00$

When I'm looking at an old tractor and it has new paint ...I look really hard...and insist on running the tractor under load until it heats up....the paint and what gunk may be under it does hide leaks and other flaws...I much prefer an old tractor with original paint and some dust or grease...I feel better then...:2cents: Seems $1,900 high based on prices here in my area.

I agree it is over priced. I expect the hours may not reflect hours that may have been put on the tractor due to possible tack head replacement. That does not say 2200 is wrong. Our 1776 MF 265 has 1300 but the FIL quit farming his 26 acres about 10 years after getting the tractor and used his 1952 T30? for light stuff until he passed in 2009.

If you are going to row crop 100 acres and this will be your only tractor (like people did in 1967) then diesel may be good. If you want the tractor to care for light upkeep of a small farm and for it to start 12 months out of the year I personally would just go gas.

That is a decent price for my area. That tractor will run forever. If all checks out, I'd buy it in a heart beat!!

Gale,
I am skeptical of diesel for "my" use which would be maybe 50 hours a year.
Will look for a gas engine.
Have a customer that is to show me his IH 350 in the next week or so.
Thanks

Why? The Perkins in the MF will sip fuel, will start at -40 without a block heater.. Ine of the most reliable teactors ever built!! When a gas tractor wont start , the MF will. Plus liwer maintenance costs.

When was the last time you had to get a new injection pump?
