1958 ford 800
I met a man who had a ford 800 however it broke down on his farm and had been setting a few years. I asked him if he would sell it but I really couldn't quote him a price except as scrap. What would be a reasonable price?

500 - 5000.

There is not nearly enough information to answer your question.

What 800 model 840, 850, 860?

Does it have power steering, wheel weights, high lift?

How are the tires? 2 new rears will run close to 800.

Has it been sitting outside?

It is broke down? Does it need a new transmission, or a fuel filter?

Fill us in a little and I'm sure you get the information you are looking for.

Can you rebuild it yourself? Can you do some testing to see what needs fixing? If it is not running, it is a huge gamble to invest money into it if you can not do the work yourself and sometimes even if you can. Without knowing, you could be looking at a new engine, new transmission or other major problem. I just ended up rebuilding an 861D that I bought after I put less than one hour on the meter without warning, so they can lay down and die anytime, but if already dead; it is just a lot of metal bolted together. Buy it cheap because parts are expensive and experienced mechanics are even more rare and expensive.

To the forum from Northwest Alabama. I go to St. Louis often, go Cards, and I went to Cape Girardeau last week to pick up something I order at that new very big Menards there.

500 - 5000.

There is not nearly enough information to answer your question.

What 800 model 840, 850, 860? I only know its a 800 model I didn't get close enough to tell which.

Does it have power steering, wheel weights, high lift? I don't think it had power steering and I don't remember any wheel weights.

How are the tires? 2 new rears will run close to 800. The tires aren't new and I think one or more are flat

Has it been sitting outside? Yes its has been sitting outside for quite a while.

It is broke down? Does it need a new transmission, or a fuel filter? It is broke down and the problem according to the owner something with the timing or a shear pin I'm not sure.

Fill us in a little and I'm sure you get the information you are looking for.
I don't want to put a lot of money in the purchase when it requires maintenance but I don't want to be unreasonable either.
