1955 Ford 860 stalls

Starts quickly by choking when cold and runs well for 15-20 minutes and suddenly stalls as if running out of gas. Will start again usually by choking and runs for uncertain length of time and stalls again. Sometimes won't restart without a short wait time. anyone?

Check the fuel delivery. It's most likely restricted. Clogged tank strainer, clogged fuel filter ( if it has one) kinked fuel line, fuel tank vent plugged (remove fuel cap and see if that cures it) dirt in carb fuel bowl not allowing float to drop, etc.

Lafayette, Indiana, huh. I spent some time just across the river at a place called Purdue University. Don't suppose you've heard of it?

Definately check the fuel cap vent. What you describe fits.

at moment of stall, check spark. if it has spark, check fuel flow at bottom of carb bowl.. if a drip or a trickle that tapers off.. look fo r the restriction..

Check any rubber fuel hoses. Many of the older ones will look new but be totally blocked internally from the junk ethanol fuel we are forced upon. The hoses many many times look brand new internally but are totally falling apart internally. Many times it also buggers up the needle valve in the carb so you must rebuild it also.
