1954 Ford NAA loose rear wheels

New to this forum . Just pick up a 54 Ford NAA this past weekend . The rear wheels are loose . Ive read about the hubs being worn out and causing this problem but on one side the axle nut or axle seems to be stripped when you try to tighten it . Has anyone had experience with wheel clamp lock nuts ?
