1946 oliver standard 60 Fan/water pump belt

Hello all I am trying to replace the fan/water pump belt and I can not figure out how to get it off. I removed the fan bolts but can not get the fan pulley off as the water pump shaft is too long to get it off with the tension on the belt any suggestion of if anyone has a manual that can explain how to get it off.

A fan belt installation/removal tool may do the trick for you. You put it onto the pulley then rotate it with a wrench on the crankshaft and it walks to old belt off. Hemm is this the correct way to do this or a workaround? I am willing to try anything but want to do it the correct way.

I spent a lot of time on a 60 when I was a kid, about 55 years ago. If my Dad was still alive, he could probably help you.

Generally this belt also drives the generator. If yours also drives the generator it's a simple matter to loosen the generator mounting bolts to release tension on the belt and slip it off. Replace the belt, apply tension, and tighten the bolts.
