I started up my tractor, engaged the pto to run the mower, and began driving. Suddenly the mower lifted into the air. I stopped the tractor. re-engaged drive shaft on mower. Mower is now sitting on its wheels and the hydraulics do not appear to function. No hoses or valves on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't plow or mow or grade....Basically I have no hydraulics.

Does the 9N have draft control.... A lever under the seat... It's about 3" long... that may have been bumped....

9n and 2n ONLY have draft control. no position control at all unless added aftermarket.

the 3pt control controls a fork and the valve at the pump.. I'd look there.. forks do come off.

@Dave...no draft control lever under the seat. @souNdguy, please assume I am stupid. Is the fork internal...do I need to dismantle something, because I see nothing like a fork. The 3pt control automatically jumps towards the up position once it is released from the locked down position.

time to buy a service manual.

dave led you astray making you look fro a draft handle.

the control ford is under the hyds top cover and goes fromthe top cover tot he belly pump in the center section.

there is a round inspection cover aft of yuor right foot you could remove to peer in.

lastly. the 3pt control handle should not freely move. there should be a nut and corkish friction washer inthat quad assembly, and the handle should stay where you set it.

P/N 504 in the diagram is the fork that SG was pointing you toward - They sometimes come off the T-shaped control valve linkage (P/N 640) which makes the lift operate as you describe.

Thanks, everyone, for your help. Manual finally arrived. Tractor is functioning...will need some adjusting as I learn more about it.

Yes it will but your soil may have a lot to do with it. May want to pull a 12".
