I have a Ford 1920 with a Woods FEL and 3PH that worked fine yesterday. Today, after starting the FEL and 3PH won't lift. This unit doesn't have a remote hyd. installed (yet, stilling laying on bench in garage). It sits outside, but it always has so I'm not sure what is going on.

Fluid level o.k.--fluid looks o.k.---outdoor temp about 25 degrees. The only complaint I have about this unit which may be related is the bucket dump has historically been very slow which make me wonder if the valve was leaking by or restricted and has now become even more of a problem.

If the pump has failed I would like to know--even though I won't fix it myself, is if the pump is external or internal so I have some idea of how serious this problem is.

Thanks for any insight---having my tractor break on Christmas Eve is a bad omen.

My 1710 hydraulics are very sensitive to water in the fluid. Water clogging the filter causes slow to no movement. With some water in the unit, below freezing temperatures will prevent the FEL and 3pt from moving at all.

Sometimes just changing the filter will get you going again, until the filter collects enough water. The best solution for me has been to dump all the fluid and change the filter. I then re-change the filter after 10 hours just to be sure.
