1816C case drive pump

Just got it running ,sat idle for years and now the new belt on the left side burned of in about 1 hour and was sqealling.
How do I determine if it is the pump or the drive motor. I can put a cheap belt on it a see if it burns off and squeals without using leaver.
Open to suggestions.

Bad drive motor would only cause problems while trying to move. Was the squealling constant or only while driving?

Sorry for delay, got the belts today to retry, will try this weekend

With belt on right side no noise. Removed belt and put it on the left side. Right way belt started making chirping noise but does not look like belt is slipping a lot. Noise is constant even when speed up a bit from idle. Does not seem to change with speed, up the chirp is still at the same pace not faster. Could it be the presssure release. A few very fine metal clitter in the filter.
Do not have to move lever to make noise. Soon as engaged.

If squealing under no load sounds like pump is failing. Could be charge pump or main section but either way It will contaminate the motor if you try to use it that way.

Thanks for your input will take out and take apart hope it just needs a kit. Should be a 15-2044 sunstrand, can not find a used one in Canada, any suggestions on used supplier.
