Like others have stated we are not getting any younger. One reason I bought my L45 is I did not want to wait too long and have trouble climbing on it. We should have had a pool on how long you would hold out.

:) Not getting younger, L is way high off the ground and mine had a step to get up on it, I think. The B is closer to the ground and so close a step just .......well....the B is a hair high. Now the BX is just right for getting into/onto the seat and of course off again once having mounted it. I'm convinced the BX will do the jobs the B2620 did, maybe BH won't dig as deep by a foot or so but should dig deep enough for me/my needs. FEL work I mostly do can be done by BX FEL and bucket.
Biggest difference between B and BX is ground clearance which is one of the main reasons I ever traded my first BX2200 FEL to a B7800 FEL. Most of my property is now tamed enough that the ground clearance issue has been mostly leveled out along with 11 years experience to help me better able to deal with "issues" that I had with my first ever tractor, the BX2200 FEL being a bit to close to the ground.
Are you saying you were NOT in the pool? There is usually an ongoing pool of when and occasionally what.:D :cool2:

Congrats John. Yes, you nailed it. Stepping onto a BX is the thing for older gents. I know larger tractors can have steps attached to assist, but the BX always felt the most comfortable for my arthritic body to mount and dismount. Hard to explain to a lot of the younger guys who are still nimble and may still have large projects to do requiring the larger machines. That's great for them.

You'll be amazed how that new BX puts a smile on your face. The familiar comfort reminiscent of an old pair of favorite blue jeans. It'll just fit. Again, enjoy it, John.

After buying my BX, an older neighbor of mine came over to see it. He's about 70 and walks (poorly) with a cane. I left him alone with it in the barn for a couple minutes, when I got back to the barn he was sitting on it grinning like a kid and trying all the controls. He was really liking it and very happy that he could climb on. I've known him for 5 years and that's the first time I've seen that smile on his face. Reading your accounts here reminds me of that day, and it really brings home what you guys are saying.

John just needs to work for Barlows as a tractor tester and blogger, then he can try a new tractor every week, write about it, get paid and Barlows gets advertising out here.

Congrats on the BX25. If I was closer to KY, I'd consider trading my BX23 in on your B2620 with BH. I love my BX23, but could use a little larger backhoe with a little more reach.

By the way, I sold my last motorcycle (because I figured I had cheated fate too long), and bought a Honda S2000 that I love. It's a really fun car to drive. It uses variable valve timing that kicks in around 6,000 rpm. Below 6,000 it runs fine but when it gets up around 6,000rpm all he11 breaks loose and it just screams.

I was just thinking about that myself but I know nothing about the bigger tractors and farming equip and customers sometimes have their own ideas about what they want and want a salesman with knowledge, go figure. I'm to old to learn about stuff I don't already know.:D...... I could do the B and BX sales.:)

With Barlows you don't have to be close to KY.:) Marvin retired from the Army so he can deliver Kubota "stuff" all over the country and he does it with a smile and a hat for the customer. He'll bring it to your door or near your door, unload it and answer any questions then take off to deliver or pick up another Kubota somewhere in your area. It's sitting in my storage building today, I'll stop by today and see if my BX25 has arrived. You know the price of the B2620 FEL BH and the only question remaining is how much difference to deliver it to your door and pick up your BX23.:cool2: I even have pics of it new in Barlows dealership with the wheels off and the BH frame being installed.

I've been looking/considering the S2000. Have never drove one but it is way up on the list. They are hard to find at a decent price. I see lots of car dealers in Texas with lots of really nice stuff for sale on internet. Maybe could get a car brought back by Marvin after he drops off the B. Have him take a bigger truck so he'll have room. Maybe save us both some money. Steve is also a car guy, he says I need a Jeep for fun but I don't think that's me. Made a serious offer on a 1997 SL500 with 59,000 miles in a town near me but haven't heard from them.
67 years old and a hefty 230 lbs....entrance and egress difficulty in a S2000? That's becoming one of my major criteria. Quit buying Corvettes several years ago when I had to start falling down into them and then trying to crawl back out.:D Considering a Mini Cooper and Smart car but reading about maintenance heartbreak. May complainers complain way, way louder than satisfied customers.....ever heard of that before?:D:D

FYI. No "smog stuff" under 26Hp

Because of the smog stuff on the new B2920 and a customer Barlows Kubota Dealer had that was (or about to or had) purchasing a many houred B2920 that he (customer) wasn't happy with hours and with that in mind Steve Barlows gave me an extra $3000 above and beyond what he had offered before for my 73 hour B2620 FEL BH which was enough for me to make the deal of buying Kubota #17 from Barlows. Guess I hadn't explained in detail the reference to the smog stuff. It had nothing to do with my B2620 but a round about reference to a B2920 and smog stuff thrown in the conversation.
