Kubota B7800
Hi guys: OK I need your expertise input before I make a decision. I have a B7800 with Loader and box scraper also have a rotary mower. I am just starting up a small tractor business and can't make up my mind on the trailer. Definitely gonna be the Diamond C heavy duty extra wide 10,000 GVW utility trailer. I'm not concerned about the cost difference. I have plenty of room for storage..got 7 acres here.

I almost bought the 18 yesterday but decided to come home and measure everything first. A 16 will work with just the box scraper but with the mower that's another story.

Talk to me!

I have an 18ft'r. I bought a Bri-MAr and at the time, 18 ft is the longest they made,. Now, they have a 20. To do all over again, I would get a 24 ft'r. I looked at Big Tex and other brands, and am only sold on Bri-mar or Contrail,, Not interested in the other brands,, I haul a Kubota L 48 TLB, and with the hoe off, and hog mower on,, I can't haul the combo,, Just too long.. To do again, in your shoes, I would say get it over with and get the 18 ft'r from the start.,

Jim, I would measure the lenght of the items you will be carrying and add 2 feet for correct balance purposes
Just my idea, you don't want a trailer that everything has to go in just one place to fit and trailers are the same as boats and garages, they ain't never big enough no mater how well we measure LOL

Definitely the 18', or even 20'. You already see the limitations the 16' has... not like you can easily tack on another 2' later :)

Looks like the 18' gonna do it...20' would be a bit abit too long for my purposes.

Just bought a 88 Ford F=250 Lariat 3/4 ton with the 460 Pig block for 3,000 bucks.

Truck has 88,000 miles on it. You can pick these trucks up cheap right now because of the gas prices. Couldn't find a diesel so this otta get me started.
All I bought it for is to haul the Bota.

So here I am at 59 years old just thought I was gonna retire..I just love bein out there, if ya know what I mean. When I bought the tractor and got my 7 acres all cleaned up people started askin me if I'd do some work for them. Then a landscaper I know said he's been lookin for someone to take over his high weed mowin jobs. He told me to make sure I get a 4 hour minimum @ 65 bucks an hour.. How could a workin man say no to that?

I guess that ol sayin "It ain't over till the fat lady sings" carries some truth.

So back to the trailer stuff..Gonna be a Diamond C utility 10,000 GVW just in case I wanna haul somethin else down the road..3300 bucks brand new.. The fella that hooked up my wiring and hitch said 75% of his business was from guys that bought used trailers and didn't check stuff out..

I looked at a few used one's and most of em were thrashed and the price they were askin wasn't that much far from a new one..Thousand bucks maybe..But then what I gotta spend to make it solid? Figure I'll just start fresh and do it right.

Thanx for the input...Don't ya just love this stuff?

Mr. Jimi's comment is well worth noting. My 20' Big Tex pipe trailer will just barely accomodate some of the combinations I haul around. But, when this is the case, the balance is never right. Depending on whether I drove on or backed on, the load is either too tongue heavy or too tongue light. Neither is good. I usually go with tongue heavy as it's stable; but it is hard on the truck. If I had a couple of feet to play with, I could get the balance right.

Still, if you're only hauling short distances, it may not matter much. I'm usually going 12 miles, one way, on good, fairly level roads. If it got up around 40 or 50 miles, I'd be looking for something bigger.

I have a B2910 & 5' rotary cutter and tow with with an 18' trailer. The tail wheel from the cutter extends past the rear of the trailer even though I have room to pull forward. I looked at a 16' but felt I could have excessive tongue weight because I would have to pull the tractor almost all the way forward on the trailer.

Go for a 20 foot trailer. After a few years it too will be too short!:D

I bought a 20' dovetail for my B3030, FEL and 6' brush hog because that's the size it needed to not stick out over the end.

Hello,

After reading these threads on a trailer, it looks like the dealer I bought mine from was less informed than I was. I'm getting a B3030 403FEL, 60"MMM, Balast Box for 3pt. hitch. My trailer is a PEQUEA (Co. from New Holland Pa.) it's 7,000 GW and 14' L X 6' 4" W ($2,500). The dealer I bought the trailer from is not the same dealer I bought the tractor from. However, when I ordered the trailer I was looking at compact tractors of the same approximate size as the one I finally bought. I have the trailer and I'm picking the tractor up on 8/3/07. Now after reading these threads it seems my trailer will not be big enough. The tractor is listed at 99.2" L with a wheelbase of 65.6" but with the FEL attached, I'm not sure how much length that will add. The dealer told me this trailer would be sufficient to hall a compact tractor of either a New Holland (TC26 DA, TC30) Kubota (B7800, B2630, B3030). Does everyone think this trailer is too small for the B3030 with the implements I mentioned above.

thanks for any advice,
kirklowj
