1538 fuel shutoff

That model must have a pump close to the tank. If not how would they expect you to change the filter without the tank being empty?

My little eMax25 has one on the filter assembly.

That was the flaw. No way to shut off fuel before the pre filter.

They don't and they make no mention of it in either the operators or service manual. I guess everyone is supposed to find out the hard way when they go to change the 1st fuel filter. It drains what fuel remains in the tank completely. To check for water in the fuel you have to remove the engine side curtain to access the drain on the bottom of the filter can too. Clearly service didn't much thought when they put this thing together. One of these days I'll modify mine with a clear bowl and drain to check for water and add a shut off while I'm at it.
Something like that would not affect a warranty. If they tried it would take about five minutes in court and all you'd have to say is Magnuson Moss and it would be over.
