I need help i have a 1528 massey and my hydraulics seem to whine and pulse when cold and are weak when warm I don't know what to do next I have replaced hoses but wondering if I need to rebuild the cylinders or if I can tell if I need to do that or change the pressure relief valve ? Thanks in advance for any and all help

Hello Dave. I have witnessed air in hydraulic systems cause jerkiness and I’m sure it could cause weakness also. I don’t think the cylinders are the fault of this. And the way I would purge it at this point would be the use them. Then if it isn’t operating correctly, continue posting

I have tried to continue operating for a while now and dosent seem to change the result hense the reason I thought maybe I have a bad cylinder. I do need to change the hydraulic filter but I'm not sire if there is only one filter or 2. I can't seem to find any literature on how to or instructions..

Thank you for your advice and help.

If you're hoping for any meaningful help, you might start by identifying which transmission you have. The hydraulics between the two will be similar in some respects but certainly different in others.

Hi @superdave24 - I operate a 1533 built in 2005. It is an 8x8 SynchroShuttle tranny. Having just serviced our hydraulics and I know that the 1528 is a different platform, the pulsing mushy nature could very well be entrapped air. There is a bleed procedure that has to be done if a line is opened. The entrapped air takes quite a while to bleed out. There should be a procedure for bleeding in the Operator's manual. If you don't have an operator's manual, they are available from AGCO.

I think you will get more answers if you post your thread in the Massy Fergusuon sub-section here.
