1510 Starter problems

Starter switch has been acting up for the last couple years.
Previous owner installed a starter button and that has been working fine UNTIL yesterday.

Jumped it with a screwdriver once & everything was working good again.
Today nothing.
Battery good jumping with screwdriver gets nothing, not even a click.

Trying to take starter off to run up to repair shop & can't get it out.
Part of the hydraulic system is in the way.

Is there a trick to getting the starter out or do I have to break open the hydraulics?

Yup... That looks like it.

But just like that poster, I cleaned everything up & put it all back together (without getting it out of the tractor) and IT WORKED!

Well.... twice anyway. Then back to the screwdriver.

Going to order an ignition switch & see if that helps.

Most of what I find says this tractor is self priming so if I do have to get into the hydraulics it shouldn't be bad.

Well... I have ordered a new starter key switch.
Will try using a jumper cable and see if that indicates a bad cable.

Today was hit & miss, switch worked part of the day then quit.
Screwdriver to the rescue.

Check all connections including the ground to the frame. I had some issues on my 1920 and the ground to the frame was rusty, cleaned it up and no more issues.
