My 1510 started losing power and stalling 2 summers ago while bush hogging on rather hilly ground. Could not figure out the problem as after cooling for a while would run fine,then noticed while problem was occuring saw that fuel drier/filter was empty. It seem I have trash in fuel tank that sometimes will get caught in fuel outlet.So my question is can someone suggest how to get this trash out short of removing the tank?

You could try sucking the junk out of the fuel tank using a suction gun, the type that looks like a grease gun. But I think you will end up pulling the cowl and taking out the tank.

Get as much fuel out as possible and use a shopvac with some improvised fittings to get a ridgid 1/2 piece of pvc into the hole for suction or a garden hose (im thinking it will suck this shut though). My first thought?

I agree with clemsonfor...another thought would be to again...empty all the fuel and with the vacuum going, blow compressed air through the fuel hose dislodging all of the crap and the wet dry should suck it up as it comes free.

Be sure to replace the fuel line that goes from the tank to the filter, or blow it out real good.

You can also wire on a cloth to a dowel (like a big Q-tip) and swab around the bottom of the tank to get what is sticking to the bottom.
