2015 Kioti CK4010HST
Just bought a 151 hour old CK4010. I need to order filters to service it. Are Kioti the best option or are there aftermarket like Wix that I can save a few bucks on?

What weight oil do you guys run? T6 is my go-to for my motorcycles so I have a bunch of it in the shop already.

Any specific Hydro fluid that's preferred? Front axle lube recommendations?

Anything else suggested?

Thanks

I have a ck2610, with about the same number of hours, but I bought mine new from the dealer.
When I took delivery, I found I needed to top off the hydraulic fluid as well as the front axle fluid.
My owners manual was specific on the transmission hydraulic fluid, and also stated you could use either the transmission fluid or gear oil int the front end.
Not wanting to mix fluids I called the dealer and asked him.
He stated I could use any good quality transmission hydraulic fluid, but in the front end they used gear oil.

The only reason I use Kioti filters is I haven't found a cross reference for other brands.

I haven't started using synthetic fluids yet, but am considering it.

The owners manual should be available from a dealer. Can't seem to find a service manual, or at least my dealer doesn't want to sell me one.

Thanks for the reply.

I did get the owner's manual with it, but got home and unloaded around 0100 so haven't taken time to go through it. I'm going to drain the front axle which has hydro fluid from the factory (break in oil) and replace it with 80/90 gear Amsoil Extreme gear lube as I have a bunch of it already.

If the leaking rear seal is covered under warranty I would have that fixed before changing the hydro fluid.
Nice purchase, good luck with it.

That's the plan. Should be under warranty. I guess the side cases of the transmission need to come off to get the axles out. Doesn't look like a bad job.

Excellent, makes the purchase price even better.
There are many threads on hydro fluid and everyone has their favorite flavor.
JMO and observations, if you plan on using the machine in the NY winters I would recommend using a hydro fluid with a J20D (John Deere) spec or comparable. Two that I am familiar with are John Deere Low Vis Hy-gard and Kubota Super UDT2. Both have very good cold weather properties. Choose your fluid based on the ambient temps you will be operating in.

Thanks for that. I will be using this during the winter so I'll take your advice.

that T6 5w40 is great stuff, pretty common here on the forum too. Had it tested last 100hr service with great results too. Made cold start sluggishness a thing of the past, here in Maine.

I'm a fan of Wix, not necessarily because they are the absolute best. I'd put their filters on a 8 from 1-10 based off the many I have opened. I use them because they have a cross for everything I've got, so I can use fleetfilter and usually order bulk for all my equipment at once. My DK45se has a cross reference now for all filters, including the hst and hydraulic filter. Good to see Kioti is not making them special application, as there is nothing special about an axial piston pump/motor in an HST. they are quite common in many industries.

Of course using an alternative brand filter is always opening a can of worms in discussion. But if you are a good deal distance away from a dealer, and you need filters, or you like to pick up all your service filters from one location for ease of business, Wix, Donaldson, mobil 1, royal purple, bosch, purolator, depending on their particular variant, are all good. And in many if not most cased, the filters with a Kioti, JD, Kubota, furguson, newholland, sticker on them are often manufactured by a parent company of the filter brands listed.

Watch for a leak around the 3 point lift speed adjustment. It is an easy fix that the dealer will easily knock out under warranty. Mine leaked from that and the dealer caught it quick because it is common on the ck10 series. It is an o-ring that changes out. Congrats on your purchase! You got an incredible tractor as you will soon find out!

Thanks. Nothing there yet, but will keep an eye open.
