How can I test my lifting capacity?
Is there a test to determine how we can get max lifting.

I tried lifting this rock and failed with the loader.
The 757c had no problem with it -infact the backhoe picked this rock out of a ditch.

The 14LA helped pushed and tumble it accross the road.
here's a picture of the rock:

I think you would need a pressure guage and set your relief valve on loader to highest max. pressure. This would give you the max. allowed lifting strength.

dqdave1,

where can I pick up a pressure guage?
Do I have to put it together for this application or is it ready made for this test.

Thanks

That looks like a good size rock. I don't think even my 17LA loader would be able to lift it.

There are some threads that discuss pressure test of your hydraulics. Would need to set something up. Pressure gauge with hose & quick connect that would connect up to one of your connections for your FEL.

Below is a response from the GREAT one regarding testing loader hydraulic pressure.

The best way to measure hydraulic pressure is to plumb a 3000 psi or greater pressure gage into a male quick connect just like one on your loader attachments. Remove one of the loader hoses and put the gage in it's place. Start your tractor, raise the rpm to about 2000, and use the joystick to apply pressure. You can read maximum pressure on the gage. That's all there is to it. My tractor was exactly 2500 psi, just like the book said it should be.
