1450 Front Hanger Assembly Falling Off

Parts and Diagrams for Cub Cadet 44A 44", 50A 50" 3 Blade Deck

Mule drive belt broke and shredded into tiny little pieces. After getting a new belt installed and running it for about 100 feet, I noticed the front hanger assembly was falling off the mower. I disconnected the belt and pulled the two spring loaded bars out of the back of the top of the mowing deck to drop the deck loose. The deck was a little crooked from the front hanger assembly coming off.

I managed to get it lined back up and put the belt back and pushed the front hanger assembly back into place. I ran the mower for about 50 feet and the same thing happened again. How do I keep it from coming off?

there should be a spring loaded handle under the nose of your cub that keeps the mule drive in place. on my dads 125 it stays where you put it, open or closed. make sure that you have that lever in the position where it is holding the mule drive in the slots.

Thanks. I thought it was, but apparently either it wasn't or it's popping out of the closed position. I'll give it a thorough look.

On our 1440 I had to wire up the hanger when the spring broke. Sure I could have gotten a new spring.
