Has anyone put a tank heater on one of these tractor, would like to have a heater, but really dont want to do a freeze plug heater. Dont know why, just doesnt look like the best solution if there is an option. Guess I just hate taking something that is not leaking and giving it a reason to leak.

Thanks,

Perforance wise, I think you will be much happier with a block heater vs. a tank heater. Also, the block heater seals to the block with an o-ring, so leakage really isn't an issue.

Yes, block heater is the way to go. You could put in a hose heater, but, the leakage issue is there again and you may as well put in a block heater then. They go in pretty easy. They work excellent. Block heater gets my vote. You could do one of those oil pan heaters. Not one of my favorite things.

I have both kinds of heaters. The like the tank much better. I have a tank heater on a 166 hp Perkins and it doesn't matter where you touch the engine, it is always warm. It isn't that way with a block heater. The only problem with a tank heater on a compact tractor is where to put it.
