In the midst of replacing the carburetor on my '65 MF 135. The original Carb (Marvel-Schebler TSX-882) had the choke wire bracket mounted on it with a screw and beveled around the center (Pic 1 & 2). My replacement Carb did not come with a bracket and I am trying to figure out my options to get the bracket on (Pic 3 & 4) or to utilize my choke properly. Any help is appreciated.

It appears that the range of motion of the bracket is limited by the size of the slot with the screw in it. If the distance between the new choke shaft and the hole for the support screw is the same as the old carb then you should be able to mount it in a similar fashion.

This modification seems to work perfectly. I found these 'Speed Nuts' and slid one over the metal rod (where the old carburetor had a screw) and it is holding it tightly in place! Maybe this will help someone else as I have attached pictures for reference.

How did you get the choke lever off the new carb?
