$12k for a John Deere 2020

Sounds outrageous for a machine from 1972. It was a good size though. Is that too old or not really? I think it had 5500hrs.

That's what I showed them. It was an auction house I believe. One was 8500 the other 4500

$12K for a JD 2020 is 3Xs what I'd think about spending for a tractor that's about 50 yrs old.

Without seeing it its hard to say, but if it has a diesel engine, rack and pinion rear axle, a loader with skidsteer adapter plate and a canopy on it that $12K is in the ballpark. I can't think of any modern tractor that could do the same job that the old 2020 will handle without adding 20-30 horsepower.
