1210: What do you think?

I just saw a Ford 1210 sitting on the used lot of the local New Holland dealer. It was late by the time I drove by, so I have no idea what they're asking, but I'm interested.

What is the collective opinion of the 1210? Good? Bad?

What is a typical cost?

What are common problems with this model that I ought to look out for?

The hour meter on this one said 710.1 and the info plate listed Model #AC352E

Check to see parts availability. I am aware all the engine parts for the 1200 have disappeared from the shelves with no known supplier. With a broken crankshaft ( which I know of a couple ) the machine is worth the price of the attachments.

I called the guy this morning. He wants $3500 for it. He says it runs pretty good, and as they are a ford/new holland dealer he says they still support it for parts.

It's pretty small, though. I thought my Iseki TX1500 was small. This one's even smaller.

How many crankshafts for a 1200 do you want? They are still available.

i have had mine for year now and it works perfect,
have a 60 deck, snow blade, a 3 pt snowblower.
nice little machine for small property owner.
parts still avaiable at local nh dealer

I had an 1100 with 4WMFWD for over 20 years. It was a little tank. I wish SWMBO would have let me keep it

They are a rider lawnmower sized machine.. I've driven one.... I think 3500$ is getting into good money for one that wasn't minty.. add a couple thou to that and you can get a 70hp old ford.... or for that same price get anything from an 8n thru a 4000 3 cyl depending on where ya are..

The size factor worked both ways for me. I could go almost anywhere with it within reason, but I could get myself into trouble a lot more quickly and got stuck a lot more easily due to its lower ground clearance and small size tires

The small size is actually one of the appeals of the machine to me. I think that there were mid-mount mowers made for this model. It has a loader already oni it. It's by no means mint, but from what I could see at 10:00 pm with my headlight pointing at it and a mini-mag to inspect the hidden areas, it looked to be in pretty good condition.

Are you saying that $3500 is high? I'd love to find out that I can get one for much less, but around here all things machinery related are a little more than the national average.

Well.. you didn't mention the loader.. the info I gave was for the machine you described.. IE.. sans loader.

with this new info.. if it is a good condition machine with a loader for 3500.. and you need a riding lawnmower with a laoder.. then it is starting to smell more and more like deal all the time

( the loader adds a good premium to the value! ). The machine by itself goes for about 3000-ish$ around here, condition dependent. go check her out.. if no bad warts.. sounds like she might find a home..
