I was in Costco today, checking out PAR30 wet location bulbs.
The Luminus one I looked at is packaged promoting it as a 10 watt bulb.
The bulb is actually labeled 120VAC , 125mA. So it appears that here (Canada) these bulbs can be marketed based on the wattage the LED element itself consumes, vs. what the whole bulb uses.
I realize that in many residential settings, 10 watts vs. 15 watts is not the end of the world
..... I just get irked when I see misleading advertising.... esp. when it is off by 50%.
P.S. - I do like and use LED lighting; I'd just prefer to see more accurate consumer labeling.
