Last night I was mowing up a hill when the mower stopped moving and rolled back down the hill. After investigating I found the spring on the drive belt tensioner had come off. Has anyone heard of this before? First thing I thought of when it wouldn't drive was the pump had gone $$$$$$.

You made hairs on the back of my neck stand on that one!take it back if you can.That could have killed you !or someone else.did buy from dealer or store.and call the cub cadet hot line,I'll look for number. i know with a shaft drive you won't have that problem.and i have read with other makes of tractor with belt drive this very issue will happen.glad to hear you are OK!
