This season after cutting for maybe 30 min, it starts sputtering like its running out of gas. I can keep it running a few min by choking it but eventually shuts off. After it cools down it will run again. I have changed fuel filter but can't figure out what my problem could be. any advice?

Check the fuel hose for cracks or collapsing and if it's too close to hot engine parts. Also if you have a rocker arm actuated fuel pump it could be going bad. Try loosening the gas cap when it starts to die and see if that helps. A clogged vent will starve the engine for gas after running long enough to build up a vacuum in the tank.

Thanks bob, I think you hit with the vent. I went out and tried to start it after it had died and it would start choked but quickly die out. I opened the fuel cap and it hissed. Started tractor back up and it ran like it should.

Where is the vent on this tractor? Can it be cleaned or does it need replaced?

that vent is located in the middle of the gas cap itself. A thin stiff wire and some compressed air along with a little probing should open it up.
