1023e pto won’t engage (2012 model)

I have a jd 1023e 2012 the pto won’t engage

1-it says it’s engaged and mower blades are spinning according to dash indicating lights

2- it’s not engaged but the rio switch does kill the engine if you try to go in reverse without pressing and holding the switch prior

3- I’ve changed the proportion selenoid valve no luck

4- it’s got 270 hours on tractor

5- I checked the continuity of mbr switch it’s good

6- all fuses and relays check good

I’m drawing a blank any help please and thank you

To begin with I don’t know but I will try and start some talk. From your checks and observation I don’t think it going to be a simple electrical failure. It sounds like it going to be down in there where the engagement takes place. Before you do anything though look it over good and make sure everything obvious is right.

Was this a sudden failure or have you not used PTO for awhile and now it doesn’t work?
Did you confirm there was power to the solenoid on the PTO valve? With tractor off you should hear a slight click when that valve shifts or possibly feel a slight clunk. Not sure how that valve operates but you might also feel some magnetic pull if you lay a screw driver across top of the coil.
