On the top of the rear axle housing, out towards the wheel, there is a grease fitting. How much grease should be put in these? If routinely done, 3-6 pumps on the grease gun or???

Thanks, Tony

About 5 pumps once a year unless a lot of hours are racked up. I greased my 4255 rear axle brgs yesterday

Tx Jim, you seem very knowledgeable about anything related to JD tractors. I believe you said you worked at a dealership or owned one? Anyway I am new to tractors. Had my 5065e for 1 year with 75 hrs on it. I was reluctant about getting a machine made in India. I have had practically no problems and follow the book on maintenance. Am I likely to have more problems as years go by? Maintaining my 80 acre timber/hunting tract: roads, food plots, etc I will only put about 75-100 hrs per year. Is there any advice?

I was employed by a JD dealer for over 21 yrs but didn't own one. Your tractor will probably be fine as good maintenance goes a long way foe equipment performance/durability.
