Ok.. here's my guess.. Check your pedal linkages and arms. I had a loose nut like that on the shaft my clutch pedal ran on. If your's is hydro.. check the hydro pedals.. brake pedals.. or any pedals down under the operator platform.. there's lots of linkages under there.

I don't know how long you have had your tractor but it could have been sitting someplace on the tractor from setup and just finally fell off. I'm just thinkin here that is all.

The nut and turnbuckle came off on mine about a month ago.
37 dollars for a new turnbuckle!
I'm now constantly turning around while I'm mowing and checking to see if it's still there. I have to keep tightening it, and it's always the one on the right side.

Andy, Andy, Andy you should know by now that these things never fall off while you are watching them. Ignore it for a day however and it will come apart once again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I figured after spending the money for the new one, I would find the one that fell off, but no such luck! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

A few years back I rented a large backhoe when I was clearing my lot. It used a large pin to secure the BH from side movement when I was driving it to my lot. The guy at the rental told me if I lost the pin that it would cost me 50 bucks and that I should be real careful with it. The base of the tractor itself had a 1-1/2 inch shelf on the floor so when I was using the BH I threw the pin in there for safe keeping. At the end of the day the pin was no where to be found. I searched my lot high and low and 4 years later it has yet to show up. I think once a part hits the grass it's like the Bermuda Triangle, things are lost forever! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And yes, I paid the extra 50 bucks! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I had the same problem as Cvpuser did. The bolts that hold the FEL to the axle were loose. Only the inside ones on both sides. It always appear that the blts the assembling mechanic cant reach with an impact wrench get week hand torquing.

However, I did notice you said the bolt was too small. Sometimes those adjusting rods have a second bolt to keep them in place. That would take reviewing with a manual.

( That's what I thought when I was looking at the tractor Steve. This nut is too small to really have any FEL / TPH function although I inspected those closely. I will pull the mat up check those bolts.
have blue, we'll put a ten year hold on your theory and if nothing falls off I'll send cash.
I'll send the nut to you mrwurm but if I find a home for it I'll need it back /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif )

Actually, that is exactly the size the lock-nut is on the 3pt stablizer linkage.

I know lots of mechanics out there were tossing and turning at night trying to get the $10 offered so I have bad news for the contest. I went to hook up my little dump cart I pull around with the mower and the pin assembly fell apart in my hand...hello missing bolt/nut.

The original assembly instructions had an inventory list with actual size drawings of the various parts and the nut I found is the same size as the one required for this particular connection.

Now if I could just find that bolt... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

That's close enough. I'll take cash or personal check. No pennies please! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
