Slipped out of the office for the last 10 days to get in some seat time. I really put it all to work this week.

1) Finished mowed 6 acres of pasture
2) Spread 1 ton 13.13.13 fertilizer on pasture
3) Bush Hogged all my back roads, food plot and field trails
4) Used RTV to trim overhanging branches on 1.25 miles of trails and roads
5) Used tractor and chipper to chip above trees and several other blow down trees on property
6) Used box blade to turn deer food plot over after bush hogging was done.
7) Tiller to prep 1/8 acre food plot, then seed, fertilizer, lime and drag harrow with RTV
8) Finished shaping 3200' main road through property with scrape blade and landscape rake
9) Gravel truck spread a dozen 18 ton loads of gravel, some #4, some #57 and lots of crusher run
10) Landscape rake to finish grade roads, RTV & drag harrow to smooth new road.
11) RTV and 26 gallon sprayer to apply 36 gallons of Round-Up to kill weeds along fences and stumps with new growth.
12) Spread 18 tons of surge rock on steap parts of road to prevent washing. This really hurt because so much of the work has to be done by hand.
13) Used RTV to fill two feeders and set out mineral blocks.
14) Used Landscape rake on tractor and drag harrow on RTV to seed horse corral.

What a week. I had to get back to work to rest. I did save some time to ride horses with the wife. Hot week but very productive.

First four pictures show the new 3200' road.

This a shot of the pasture after I finished mowed. I keeping the mower set at about 7 1/2" so the horses have lots of grass for the winter but I also want to keep the weeds hacked back.

They haven't turned brown yet but all the weeds around the trees have just been hit with Round-Up

That is a lot for ten days. You need more time off. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Is that property in Florida? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I had no idea you had that many hills and clay. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Where about's in Blue Ridge? I was born and raised there, well actually in McCaysville. Most of my family and good friends still live there. I now live in Cleveland (GA).

Nice place.

Cracker... whew... I read your post and had to go lay down after reading it. Sounds like some of my "vacations". Your place looks beautiful, and work looks well done. That's a lot of stone to be throwing down. Sounds like you are getting fired up for hunting season. On the weekends, my wife and I like to sit at our small breakfast table and watch birds, etc out our bay window...while throwing down the java. Our house sits on a wooded hillside, so we are used to seeing all manner of critters. I must say, that my heart rate shot up the other day as we sat there and watched 3 bucks walk across our front yard. The 2 in front were 8 pointers, and the one in the rear was 10. All in velvet. We've seen the 10 pointer several times...as he seems to be bedding down somewhere close to our house. The neighbor lady (who hunts), and I like to swap deer sighting stories. This same deer likes to walk across her front yard too. Come deer season, the wiley critters will not be seen or heard from....probably bedded down right next to my house, laughing as he sees me come and go with my smoke pole. Enjoy your place and the great outdoors.

My place is off 60 south out of Morganton. Old Dial Rd. to Pedina Rd. & Antioch Cemetary Rd. My place has Atioch Cemetary Rd. On the north and Pedena Rd. On the SE Corner. The rest of the boundries are US Forest Service

That's puts us on the south side of the Star Creek branch of Lake Blue Ridge. (No water access, USFS between us and the lake)

Does that help....

Thanks,

And your right about the deer. They really make the place peaceful. We also have some 15-20 turkeys that stay on the property and they are a lot of fun to watch. I put out game cameras and get all kinds of pictures of deer and turkey. Last month I got a doe bringing her spotted fawn to the feeder. The month before I got a black bear sow and her two cubs.....

Very cool....

Thanks, but I still looking forward to the day I can sit on the porch and sip Hot Apple Cidar.

Right now I'll have to settle for sitting in the tractor Seat chugging Gator Aid to avoid heat stroke.
