My B2150 manual specifies 10/30 motor oil, but I see from other posts that some people and even dealers are replacing with 15/40.

I change oil once a year in New hampshire's cold winter as well as the summer.

Too heavy or O.K?

I've been using 15/40 in my B7100 Kubota for about 1500 hours now. No problems. My truck runs on the same. People in Alaska run the same weight oil.

Hi...

15w40 should be OK...

I run this year-round in my Deere 21HP diesel...

I switched to a full-synthetic 15w-40 oil (AMSOIL diesel specification) for better engine protection when starting... and also to make cold weather starting easier...

I use 10W-30 even though the dealer sells 15W40 from kubota. Chevron 10W30 synthetic is what will be in the next change. Currently it's Redline 10W30.

I use 10W-30 in the winter, haven't decided yet if I want to go with 15W-40 for the summer for the BX22. In other tractors I've always used 10W-30 year round.

Does anyone know what they come from the factory filled with? I only have 20 hrs on my BX22 and it isn't ready for its first oil change.. not even slightly dark yet.....

We've always used 15w-40 in everything summer and winter with no problems.
