The shiney new L4400 is scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning at 10:00.
But I'm not excited.
Honest.
I'm serious.
No big deal.
Really.

Ok, it's 2:30 here on the West Coast, so it must be at least that time or later where you are...

How is it? Having too much fun to post probably!

Congrats,

Greg

Oh baby oh baby oh baby oh baby

That was fun. I've never operated a tractor before. I think my Allis-Chalmers all-terrain forklift was a bit jealous. I figured some things out, mostly that just because you can drive a tractor does not mean you can move dirt. I did manage to get a couple of hours on a box scraper, a straight blade, and the front end loader.

Backing up to change over from the box scraper to the wider straight blade is a pain. When they say "Make sure you back up straight", they aren't kidding. And the landing needs to be really, really, really level.

I would have done more, but another lesson is that here in the desert southwest, you really have to shut down when the wind starts blowing 25 mph or so in order to not annoy everyone downwind.

Here's the new L4400 with my son standing on it. (It's not running) He's totally taken by the tractor. If I'd known how hard he would work with a new Kubota, I'd have bought one several years ago.

Looks good! Congrats!

Is that an oil filter just below the deck by the hydraulic lines? If it is that would sure make service easy.

That is indeed the hydraulic oil filter. I haven't actually serviced anything yet of course, but everything looks pretty accessible.
