1/10th Hours

I noticed my hour meter has some text to it that says 1/10 hours. How should I interpret that?

Do I do my maintenance every 50 1/10 hours or do I calculate out how many full hours have pass? My tractor has 500 1/10 hours so does that mean it only has 50 hours on it?

1/10 of an hour is 6 minutes; for example, 6/10 would be 36 minutes of engine run time.

It's literally just the minutes until the next hour is added to the clock.

No, not in a machine with as flexible maintenance tolerances as a tractor.

Sorry so to clarify my question. I have to change my oil every 50 hours according to my owner manual. Does that means every 500 1/10 hours on my meter?

No, every 50 hours on the meter.
50 1/10 on meter = 50 hours and 6 minutes.
500 1/10 on meter = 500 hours and 6 minutes.
127 7/10 on meter = 127 hours and 42 minutes.
As turnip stated, 1/10 of an hour is 6 minutes.
Just take the first hour number on the meter, then add the tenths by multiplying them, to get the minutes, by 6.

Don't bother with the 1/10th. Just use the hours. It's not that critical anyway.

My Kubota registers tenth hours also. I have no idea why. It certainly is not used for any purpose I have.

1/10 hours on the hour meter serves the same purpose as 1/10 miles or kilometers on an odometer.

To the OP just pretend your hour meter is an odometer. Cars have their oil changed at so many miles, kilometers. Tractors are changed at hours, but your read the meter the same way.
