08 Polaris Crewcab vs. Kaw 3010 Trans Mule

My next decision is a winch. I'd like to have one that will move from front to rear via a receiver hitch hookup. I'll have to try to research where to find one. I'm also debating on whether to have them go ahead and put a power bed lift on it. They want $600 but not sure how much labor. I don't think it'd be hard to put it on myself.

I bought the Warn 4.0 winch and mounted it in the front end. I considered the multi mount but then I thought, it sticks out too much to leave it mounted all the time and I did not want to leave it in the bed of the Ranger to bounce around all the time. Are you disciplined enough to remember to put the winch in the back when you are going riding and think you might get stuck? Nobody ever thinks they are going to get stuck.

I installed my power dump myself. It is easy, very easy. I think it took me less than 1 hour.

I personally have had good luck with Ramsey winches. They seem to have good customer support and nice products. I have had Warn also and they are equally good but in my experience slightly more expensive. Even though your fingers might thank you I would advise not getting a synthetic rope winch. Lifting my plow might have created a problem, but mine snapped a rope unexpectedly on its first use. I now have standard cable and am much happier with it.

don't forget half the fun of getting a new machine is looking for all the accessories you want to put on it. the stuff i have ordered for my ranger should start arriving this week.have fun with your ranger crew!

Good points about the winches, thanks. Bigdeer, yes it's fun to look for accessories but expensive!!!!! Don't mind spending the $$$$ just want to spend it on things that i'll really use and get my money out of. I did order the soft top to keep sun/rain somewhat off and went ahead and ordered the bed lift since the wife will be hauling alot of dirt etc.....Tommy I promise to get some pics on as soon as i get it home. Prob be a week or so.......

I just built a cheapy seat of seats to go in the back of my Ranger for the kids to sit in when we trail ride. Around the house there are seldom 4 of us riding at a time.

hey go on down to the local salvage yard and get you a nice mini -van seat take out what you don't want on it and there you have it . they even come with the seatbelts on them already.i have one stored in my shed for when we have a crowd over and we go ridin in da swamp. it can fit three kids easily and two adults nicly.not to mention the are really comfy.if you look good some of the caravan seats have the fold down child seats in them. i have one in my shed too if you can't find one and want to pay the shipping i'll send it to you all you gotta do is pay the shipping i'll even weld some flat runners on the bottom for you so it will not rock thats what i did to mine that i use if not you'll have to put a piece of wood or bolt a piece of metal on to make the seat even more stable.pm me if you want it but it has the car seat in it i think it has two car seats in it.
