Does anyone have one yet and can give some feedback?

Mileage, power and availability of the new diesel gas for it.

I have started looking for the new diesel fuel in western NC and have not found a single station selling it yet. Everyone is still selling the 500PPM version or dyed gas. I sure would hate to buy a new 07 and not be able to fuel it up.

Call a local fuel distributor and see if they have the ULSD. It should be available everywhere by Oct. 15th, 2006.

I cannot believe that is true. They have been selling ULSD here in Kansas for a long time now. You must be talking to people that do not know anything.... I second the previous post on calling the distributor.

In Michigan they have been selling ULSD probably for a year, they just do not tell you. I know a semi driver for an oil company and he showed me his load slip. He said that they have been carring ULSD for most of this year.

As I understand it, the 2007 F250 is still using the same 6.0 engine as earlier models and does not require the ULSD. ULSD is not mandatory until January 2007. The new 2008 F250 6.4 engines coming out after the first of the year will require the ULSD.

I have been going by the stickers on the pump itself. "DO NOT USE IN 2006 OR OLDER VEHICLES" I have yet to see a pump labeled ULSD.


BB_TX: 2007 models are on the lots now. Are you saying the 2008 models will be out in another couple months? If so, that would be about 8 months earlier than normal.

As with most government mandates, the time line for ULSD slipped. I believe stations are required to carry only the ULSD beginning Jan. 1, 2007. I suspect most already are so that they can purge all the old out of their tanks.
Ford revealed the new 2008 F series SD this fall at auto shows and state fairs. Impressive looking truck and towing specs but a lot more than I need. If you believe the rumor mills on all the truck and auto web sites, they will be available early 2007 trying to get a jump on GM and Dodge.

Part of the confusion comes from the fact that the ULSD mandate starts in the calendar year 2007 whereas automaker's model-year starts months beforehand.

As noted above, the 2007 model Super Duty is the same as the 2006 model and can run on the current fuel with no problems. In January of 2007, Ford will introduce the 2008 model trucks with the new 6.4L engine that requires ULSD.

NO ULSD at ANY station in my area of Georgia. Fine with me though, I dread running that stuff in my new Duramax. I run Stanadyne anyway.

I have recently read an article on ULSD and I think it will have some good benefits. But if it cost more they can keep the crap. Oil companies making to much profit off consumers anyway.
