Except the BX Kubotas, the B7510, 7610, 7800, etc. That makes for a pretty significant sector of modern tractors that don't have position control, and a pretty sizeable portion of annual compact and subcompact tractor sales.

My decision is made ... I will look to a tractor with either a MMM or a RFM to handle our 7+/- acres of lawn cutting. And, I am going to be certain that the PTO has "position control". It definitely matches my inexperience level. And, I think it would have better re-sale value should that become important.

I'll certainly look into the limiter chains, but I don't imagine that type of exactness and accuracy will be needed on the acres that I'll cut with this tractor. I'll still use our 42" riding lawn mower to handle the immediate lawn around our house, the gardens, and the barn, and perhaps a couple of super laps around the entire woods line to handle the cutting under the over hanging limbs. That equates to about 20 +/- minutes of cutting.

By time we are ready to make this purchase, there should be some very nice B3030 tractors on the used market which would be perfect for our budget.

Check chains to limit downward movement..

Like they say in the Ronco commercials..."Set it and Forget it"..

Alot cheaper and more accurate than Position control.

There are some very nice B2910's around used, with low hours, and they have all the bells, and whistles including position control. Don't overlook them in your search...... very comfortable machine, and the same size as a b3030

PTO= Power Take Off. Turns the shaft supplying power to mower or attachment.
3PH= Three Point Hitch. Raises and lowers attachment. Position Control is part of this system.
As already stated. There are many B2910 out there that will meet your requirements. A 72" MMM on this tractor will cut 2 acres of lawn per hour.

Provided that lawn is nice and smooth. 72" MMM + uneven terrain = bad plan. 60" MMM handles it better and as a result gives about the same productivity.

58 replies, not one direct answer, 99.9% replies are about quarter inching valve Vs position control.

Just so WayneW can have one answer: I have not heard of an '07 (or '08) replacement to the aging B7800. Of course they dont let me out of the home much anymore, so I really dont know.
