My HPX is having difficulty shifting... Hard to get out of gear and rakes a bit going in to gear... I suspect clutch problems but can't seem to find a service manual or decent parts list to look at...

I'm retired and remote so I need to diagnose and fix it myself...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I read in another post that it may be clutch buttons, but have no idea how to find them or to replace them...

It is a Gator HPX. pin# M0HP4GT041041. Date of manufacture - 050406

I thought of this but can't seem to decrease the idle speed... Tried adjusting the set screw that stops the throttle but that does not slow the rpm rate.... Any suggestions??? Thanks... Tom

I don't know if the HPX has a throttle cable or linkage, but may need to adjust for some slack in the cable to allow it to idle against the stop. Maybe somebody with first hand knowledge of he HPX can be more specific than I can be since I don't own one.

Slowed the idle by adding a temporary spring but the problem still exists... Need to know how to inspect the clutch and install buttons if necessary... HELP!!!

Check your engine clutch. Does the gator come to a stop when you let off the gas? If it doesn't you'll probably need a new clutch. Idle can be changed by the govenor linkage under that little black plate were the throttle cable comes in. There is a adjustment screw there but I suspect that won't fix your problem.

Thanks!!! I got it slowed to near stalling rpms but still has the problem, although not as extreme... IT wants to creep foreward at normal rpms, so... I'm pretty sure that it's the clutch but have heard that it can be done at home if you have some instructions and the clutch buttons... I really need input on these two things...
