Neighbor guy had a problem with the idler pulley on his Craftsman 48" mower deck, the bearing fell apart. Was having problems getting one, so I looked at it and told him I could fix it cheaper than buying a new one, as I've done this before. took the pulley off, took it to my shop and drilled...

Had an idler pulley start smoking, luckily noticed before it torched the belt along with it from what I can tell, the bearings don't look serviceable - no snap ring or anything top or bottom - am I missing something? Guessing you'd have to undo the eight big rivets ... I just ordered...

The 907 flail mower I got doesn't have any of the idler pulley bracket, arm or spring. I've bought a new belt and pulley. My question is can I skip the whole spring and arm and just make an adjustable bracket for the pulley to mount to. I would make it with slots to manually adjust the belt...
