hourmeter

I have a 4610 circa 2002-4 i believe. The digital hourmeter has gotten dim over the years and Id like to replace it but I also like to make sure that the hours on it when I do are accurate. Is there a way to get the current hours? i dont believe this machine has a computer or ECU. Thanks
