    Running Hot(er)

Sounds interesting.... may help the clogging situation if reverse-flow ONLY done briefly where dust/chaff can not be pulled into the open (and unscreened) engine bay. My air filters tend to choke up under same conditions that clog the rad screens, so I pull them and knock/blow dust from them...

    Running Hot(er)

Yes, I learned early on to keep close eye on the rad screen and blow it and the rad itself clear often especially in dry conditions. Did a full cooling system 'flush' while back, but looked good before and after. Also rigged up a rubber flap discharge chute to divert the grass further from...

    F3680 slope capacity?

PTO output on F-3680 is smaller spline shaft than 'standard rear PTO on other Utility, CUT or SCUT tractors of any make I know of and is used across many models and years of Kubota F, Z and other mowers. It may well be same as under-belly PTO used for some shaft-drive mid-mount mower decks and...

    F3680 slope capacity?

I think most mid-mount rotary CUT or Utility mower deck PTOs run at similar speeds.

    F3680 slope capacity?

Hello Rocks, It is similar but Not the same! The F lift system is basically a 3pt (mounted bit lower to ground) without the top link. I have set up several custom attachments to use just the lift arms & pins (cat 1) with the rear arm mounts so lifts at same angle and arc as the arms move...

    F3680 slope capacity?

If you get the F-3680 I would just mow over it several times at good height to chop it into finer bits and leave it where is. (Always mow at full throttle.) The F machines are industrial-rugged, but not so easy to change cutting height often. (do not need tools, just fiddly!) I settled on...

    F3680 slope capacity?

So long as any stumps are ground down to near ground level and no significant rocks, either of my F-Series would handle that easily with Kubota deck at about 4" and turf tires.... even without my loaded tires, 3" wheel spacers, etc. The Kubota blades are mounted to spindles with cupped...

    F3680 slope capacity?

G'Day.... Can understand some of your dilemma.... I got my PT-1845 and F-series used and the price was right.... they are way too $$$$ for personal use IMO. The PT was built like a tank, 45 HP Deutz engine plenty of power and durable like Kubota. Very stable with minimal ground clearance but...

    F3680 slope capacity?

If you still debating on suitable machine, I have both a F-2880 w/60" deck and 3680 w/72" deck on our 4 acre VERY steep property for last 11 years. The property was very overgrown (heavy grass, not woody brush) when we bought it but was able to fully clear with the stock 60" Kubota deck...

    1505 Diesel Running Hot(er)

Thanks JWR.... my next step is to use a cooling system flush product to better clean the insides and see what it does. As I said, not actually overheating at this point, just noticeably running hotter than used to and my other nearly identical 1105 engine. Will check out new rad cost just in...

    Running Hot(er)

Thanks again Rodger.... no smoke or power loss, so will concentrate on cooling system some more. Cheers, Rip

    Running Hot(er)

Thanks for the diesel details Rodger.... I knew was not same as for a gas engine, but the service manual does mention injector timing as potential issue for overheating. I guess individual injector problem would be more of a power issue (not in my case). After giving the cooling system bit...

    Running Hot(er)

Is what I thought.... may find someone with more diesel experience to look over my shoulder if I pull them.... there is a local injector shop that can test them. May do bit more radiator check and clean first though.

    1505 Diesel Running Hot(er)

I do clean screen and radiator after EVERY mow with air and/water, but no hot water at my shed. Would be difficult to use pressure washer and could damage the soft aluminium fins, but may have to pull the whole thing and have a go at it.... inside & out.

    Running Hot(er)

Water pump looks to have been replaced once on this (second-third hand) used machine, so probably not as old as rest. Top hose looked fine when I replaced the t-stat and cap, and no indications of corrosion or sludge when flushed and replaced coolant.... but have not had radiator internally...

    1505 Diesel Running Hot(er)

The 1505 engine in my F-3680 (3000 hrs) running hotter than it used to with new t-stat, cap, clean rad, coolant, oil & fuel filters, etc. Not really 'over heating' as such, but concerned. Runs well with good power but wondering about injector timing/spray pattern (have no experience with...

    Walker's F Series Thread

G'Day Walker... welcome to the F-Series club!! Both my machines are ex-municipal units so had lived hard lives before I took them over, but have turned out to be quite robust on my very steep 4 acres of 'mowed paddock' (definitely not lawn)! The mower deck is not symmetrical so do not be too...

    F-Series Hydro Leak

Big Thanks Dude.... looks like a casting plug that should not be subjected to more than (vented) crankcase pressure, thus my thought that crankcase vent on top of valve cover blocked or defective. I have been running an F-2880 and now a 3680 on terrain so steep (to 40 deg) I have made up a set...

Kubota 36HP 4 cyl oil plug falls out

    F-Series Hydro Leak

    F-Series Hydro Leak

I would tend to agree.... mine has about 3000 hrs, but as not original owner, not sure if original mounts. By the way, you mentioned in another post an engine block oil plug that was popping loose.... can you show on parts or shop drawing what and where that is? I can not seem to identify it...

    F-Series Hydro Leak

I gave up planning to deal with this myself.... just not up to doing all that seems necessary at my age (73), even though just a lot of bolts to remove ROPS, seat, floor pan, fuel tank, inner side frame, etc, etc before getting access to the hydro side cap to replace one O-ring! Had dealer...

HST Leak from SwashPlate Side Cover

My F-3680 has had a minor hydro leak that just became major from the swash plate / trunnion shaft left (solid) side support cover plate. Probably the O-ring gone bad. Would be simple fix, but tight access/visibility inside the frame. Has anyone dealt with this in F-series or other B/BX...

    F-Series Hydro Leak

Thanks Arto, I have the Workshop manual and use the Messicks parts lists all the time... both quite helpful. The B cover is circlip retained, not threaded and is O-ring sealed. Figure the O-ring gone bad, but getting to it in-frame is the tricky part. The side cover plate is also the bearing...

Thanks Arto, I am either going to do this "in place" or send to the dealer. Looks tight but doable with the (un)appropriate cursing to move it along. My leak is on left side, middle of hydro section (opposite the forward/reverse shaft, which is on the right). Looks like you had a major job...

I have a F-2880 front mower which I believe utilizes a trans-axle from the larger of the BX series tractors and need to confirm the wheel stud size. At first I though it was 7/16" x 20, but stud is slightly smaller than that so thinking it may be M11. Can someone confirm the size ? The...

    Mulching & Barbed Wire

Other than avoid it like the pague, how do you guys deal with old fence wire hidden in the brush? On a lot of old farm & ranch land there often are old fence lines and wire laying around that I would imagine would raise havoc with most any mulcher head. How much time have you wasted cutting...

    Ice/Snow/Mud Cleats for CTLs

    Concrete Pumps - Trailer Mounted ? ?

    Excavator Pallet Forks?

Was wondering if anyone made pallet forks for mid-sized excavators? Would use a Quick Attach mount and perhaps even have an angle function to help line up with pallet openings.
