Bobcat E26 excavator needs some hydraulic oil

Any thoughts about a different brand of hyd fluid - Yanmar in Bobcat or reverse? I will stock up on Bobcat stuff ( ie. filters, etc) but do I need to spend double $$ just to stock Yanmar and Bobcat brands of hyd oil??? Seems like they should be ok with the same stuff. Is there a recommended...

Bobcat E26 excavator needs some hydraulic oil

OK...I found a jug of Yanmar hydraulic fluid for my tractor in the shop that id forgotten I had so I added from it thinking that would be better. They add Red dye but no matter. So cylinders in the retracted position???? I've never known and always wondered - it makes sense that would show a...

Bobcat E26 excavator needs some hydraulic oil

I recently bought an older (2014) E26 with 2700 hours. The sight gage for the hydraulic oil indicated it was just above the low mark when I bought it. I installed a hydraulic clamp (thumb) which works perfectly and I've only put about 4 hours on it myself. Now the oil sight gage indicates...

SA 425 Hydraulic Top Link info

If you use 90 degree elbow fittings on the remotes end of the hoses it makes for a pretty clean application and hoses can run a little shorter. Mine are pictured earlier in this thread. More than one way to skin a cat.

Is Anyone Making a High Quality 7k Trailer?

I bought a Fox "car hauler" 7K open flat bed trailer with pull out ramps. I haul my Yanmar SA425 tractor with implements (less than 3000 lbs all total) but I also haul 10 to 14 foot freshly fallen pine logs that are usually around 30" to 36" in diameter. Depending on the actual fitment in the...

    Yanmar SA424 - 1.3L 3TNV80F - engine hop up

No insult intented, just my understanding of some types of problems: I have a SA 425 with only about 70 hours on the clock. I've been moving full bucket loads of 3/4 minus gravel up what I consider a fairly steep driveway section without a problem (he load is nearing the lift capacity of the...

    Radiator protection ideas

Looks very functional and good looking as well. It's kinda what I was thinking. My existing frame isn't as big so I may modify it first. Thanks for the great pics.

    Radiator protection ideas

I recently added a grapple to my SA 425 mainly to move fairly large logs but will also be grabbing brush as I clear some land. I am going to fabricate some kind of grill guard to help protect my battery and radiator. I'm interested in seeing what others have added to their tractor front end...

Yanmar 324 Questions from a New Owner

I agree with the comments above about glow plug warm up times in reality vs. the owners manujal. My 2022 SA 425 requires around 12 or 13 seconds warm up at around 32 degrees F. Otherwise it smokes and coughs terribly. I do not care for its behavior and in spite of the owners manual...

SA 425 Hydraulic Top Link info

I ordered mine from Amazon...search here for the ones shown here. There are others also. These hose lengths are right for your 425 if you add a 90 degree elbow on the end that goes to the rear remotes. These come from the Netherlands and it only takes about 3 days for delivery. One thing to...

    3rd Function on SA324/424

My "true" or "live" 3rd function valves kit from W.R.Long allows two functions simultaneously. I can open or close my grapple while also dumping or curling. It has three switch positions. An open, a close and a neutral. Some sellers and others don't mention or don't know that there are 2...

    3rd Function on SA324/424

Just a word of caution when considering a "third function kit". Although most dealers use this term for these hydraulic kits they are not all the same when it comes to how they work for the user. Some are just "diverter" valves while others are actually "true third function" valves. Diverters...

New hydraulic top link, fill cylinder first?

Thanks so much for the quick replies. I will hook up and go. Can't wait to stop jumping off and on the tractor. Well, I have to wait until tomorrow when I get the right couplers for my Yanmar. Those that came with the cylinder don't fit my 425.

New hydraulic top link, fill cylinder first?

Just received my previously ordered hydraulic top link and getting ready to install. Is it best to try to add fluid to the cylinder or will the system take care of itself and I'll add fluid as needed after the tractor has run for a short while? Any wisdom will be appreciated.

    Does anyone own a SA425?

Just a quick update regarding my frustration with Yanmar not being able to get a 3rd function valve kit since it was ordered months ago after I paid for it. I'm not trying to be negative about Yanmar just trying to help someone else avoid months of unnecessary waiting. I discovered they have...

    Does anyone own a SA425?

The area where I live is called Deer Meadows for a reason. I've found them sleeping on my porch in the shade when its hot. Here's a question: I'm trying to decide if a rake for my 3 point is worth buying. Do you know if that would help keep my gravel in the parking area and drive smoothed...

    Does anyone own a SA425?

Yander, this is my first owned tractor but I've operated others that we had on the homestead years ago. They were larger and quite old so not a good comparison. I use my 425 mostly for a small firewood business so I do some logging with various size pine trees. I load 10' log sections up to...

    Does anyone own a SA425?

I bought my 425 last July and paid for a grapple and 3rd function kit with installation. Still don't have it after over 6 months. Apparently Yanmar is having trouble getting the hydraulic kit so now the dealership is waiting for one from a different source. Pretty frustrating. You'll really...
