Oil does not wear out. It loses additives and gets dirty. Change the filter more often and add new oil. Maybe put in additives

I have a lighter plug and use it for my sprayer and sometimes a floodlight or air compressor.

Never heard of that. Were both wheels locked up or just one? Probably at the time it was hard to tell.
