    GC1705 CRI grapple installed

Finally got my Cold Roll Industrial grapple installed on my GC1705. Not much seat time yet but a sneak peak of what it has accomplished in a short amount of time.

    SAE 8 orange boss leaks

If the o-ring is squeezing out and showing then either: 1: There is no counter-bore and in this case the port is not ORB. 2: There is insufficient shoulder on the fitting. This could happen in a swivel 90 where the nut/washer was removed and the o-ring was installed against the hex portion of...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

You dont have to remove the tank. You just have to remove seat, rops, grips and rear fender assy. I did put a 3/8 bspp to 3/8 jic adapter there and ran a new hose, but It would be easier to just series into it underneath the tractor where it goes from hard to soft line. This is especially true...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

Hard to see but that fitting back there is where the PB soft line terminates. I removed it completely because mine now runs from my top link valve to this spot.

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

No it is not. Pretty sure thats the tank line from FEL valve. The PB line is the soft line i showed earlier in the thread that terminates underneath the front of fuel tank. Basically impossible to get to without removing the rops/fenders. You can just tap into each line underneath the tractor...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

Been busy with other stuff but here is the final setup of the rear hydraulic top link. Hard to document now because i had a lot of hose modifications and experiments along the way. The basics are here, and taking off the rops etc is not absolutely necessary. Better to buy the basic setup and...

How is your backhoe set up? When you remove it do you loop 2 hoses together?

3 Point Hitch Only Raises When Curling Bucket Up

Also, you could try: With all 4 quick connect lines disconnected from loader, hold your curl up function momentarily while trying to move 3 point. Only do this for a few seconds at a time. It should pop the relieve valve and send fluid down the tank line.

3 Point Hitch Only Raises When Curling Bucket Up

It is weird that it is specific to the curling function, unless when you are using the lift function there is no excess fluid in that moment to return to T line and supply fluid to 3 point. Need a better pic of FEL valve to identify PB sleeve instalation.

    GC1723EB hydraulic plumbing

Mostly, but the FEL valve is completely relocated, which would obviously change hydraulic line routing.

    GC1723EB hydraulic plumbing

Does anyone know the flow of the GC1723EB? I just got done adding front and rear remotes on my GC1705 but i still lack a backhoe. Its around 9k to add one, so I decided I'll be ordering a GC1723EB in the morning. I may just make a setup for the rear with the backhoe lines, but Im wanting to...

    3rd function valve kit

I would recommended going with a summit universal 3rd function kit then all you will have to do is measure/have lines made and figure out where to mount the valve

I also added the SSQA last night. Just need to get a plate on the factory bucket to use it as such.

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

Thanks but I will stilly likely sell outright and get a 1725MB. Hydraulics are no problem but acquiring a backhoe and subframe for under 9k isn't likely. If i could get one for like 6-7k id just keep what i have and do it.

    GC1700 series top link specs

Thank you. Do you happen to know the full retracted and extended length? Looking at 2 different cylinders. One is 15-23 inches and the other 16-22 inches. And anyome remember the pin hole sizes? Finally, which quick hitch do you use and how do you like it? Sorry for so many questions.

    GC1700 series top link specs

Does anyone happen to have the length specs on a stock Gc1700 series top link? Just got my hydraulics set up to run a hydro top link and want to get one on order but I am out of town for a couple days so can't measure. Thanks.

NOOB Here. Anyone have the 3rd function on 1723eb or 1725mb for a grapple?

I just added a summit true 3rd function to my Gc1705. I just didnt like the idea of the diverter, though I know they work well. Personally, I just like the idea of having totally seperate buttons on the joystick handle to control the grapple. If I get a new 1725MB ill be doing the same to it.

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

Got this done and it is working well. Now just need the grapple and hydraulic top link to come in so I can put it to work. Phone died while finishing up tonight but ill get some photos of the finished product and post them soon.

What have you done with/to your GC Series 2300, 2400, 1700 Tractor TODAY

More test fitting for 3rd function fel valve and rear remote valve.

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

That works but im not a huge fan of it, and I would assume it still has to have a tank return so when imements arent in motion it doesn't hang the relief valve. I want to be able to run my rear remotes.....then see a downed tree and snatch it up without having to get off the tractor. At this...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

I really dont know why the aftermarket doesn't make a kit for these....once you know the connections this really isn't bad, especially if you were JUST doing the 3rd function. I only took off the rops and fender to completely remove soft line so i could run straight from top link valve PB to 3...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

Confirmed today that the soft line runnig from the hard fel power beyond is all female -06 British standard pipe parallel threads, or BSPP for short. Where the soft line meets the 3 point to feed it from FEL, there is an adapter (male to male) to allow the female hose connection to attach. If...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

Yes the power beyond where it meets the flexible line has British Standard Pipe Parallel (BSPP) fittings throughout. I'll be waiting on some more adapters....mostly because I am adding the extra valve for rear remotes. Also, the hex plug location to run an extra tank line is BSPP as well. It is...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

Got the parts in, though the quick connect bulkhead fittings were missing, so the front hoses are just hanging for now. Decided to just go all out and mount the lever controlled valve for rear remotes as well. Have to make another trip in the morning for more adapters....british pipe...

Parts shown have shipped. I'm hoping they will arrive by Friday and I can work all day on it, preferably while local hose shop is open so any adapters etc can be acquired.

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

My guess is that it can work for 2 reasons: 1: The return T port is rated for fairly high pressures (3000 PSI) though I would not recommend running more than one of these valves in series. 2: Rather than diverting some flow to PB, the 3rd vunction takes all priority in the system in the...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

No problem, I have came across your threads many times in preparation for this project. That is part of the reason I wanted to share it here, to help others. On another note, the valve I am using for the grapple does not have a power beyond port, yet it shows it can be plumbed in series to the...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

The loader valve nice and tucked where pb port is near impossible to reach without full removal, hence why tapping into the line underneath makes sense. The hex plug where I am fairly certain I can use as the return to tank for the additional valve.

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

Take a look underneath your tractor. If it is set up like mine you will see the top line in photo (most right line on tractor). It is the one that goes from hard to flexible. This is power beyond from FEL valve and runs to 3ph. I will be tapping into the line here and using the PB of the added...

    GC1705 Project-additional hydraulics

The GC1705 has been sitting WAY too much since I bought it in 2017 (60 hours). Looked at trading in for a 1725MB but have decided I can get more for my money with DIY mods. Starting this thread to document progress over the next few weeks but plans are this: 1: SSQA dl95 adapter, mine...

    GC1705 loose loader joystick

11.9 hours on my gc1705 now. Today I moved a few stumps and when I was done I noticed the loader joystick rod as been rubbing on the loader support. The joystick has quite a bit of free play before it starts to work the valve (in all directions). This doesn't seem right but I could be wrong. Has...

    Box blade size for gc1705

I am looking to order a box blade asap. I already have brand picked out, but Im not sure if I should go with the 48 or 54 inch version. Im leaning towards the 54 inch but looking for advice based on experience. Wheel base is about 46-47 inches. Thanks.

    New GC1705 owner

Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a new owner of a 2017 GC1705 which was delivered this past Friday. Haven't had too much time to play with it due to historic flooding here in Missouri. I did get to move some tree stumps I had laying around to the fire pit, tractor did well. I...
