    CT230 Joystick Hydraulic Valve

As I recall the 3rd function valve just bolted on right next to the loader joystick. all you have to do is remove the cover plate and stack the new valves on and they pick up the hydraulic flow through the loader valve. I was able to buy the valve from my local Kioti dealer as well as the...

    steering wheel spinner knob

It is easy enough to line it up where I want it with with hydro steering, if it is off by a 1/4 turn just turn to lock and then go 1/4 more. spin back and she's all ligned up. I really appreciate having it when i'm doing work in reverse (mostly snow blowing).

    I don't understand something.

For me it isn't about the number of hours I use the machine, it is about having the right tool available when I need it. Over time the payback is in the convenience of being able to do what I need to do when I want/need to do it, not relying on others schedules or availability, not paying for...

Pretty sure you can plow with less than 40 HP Just have to use the right equipment and set your expectations accordingly.

Total noob. Mowing with Toolcat on a hill vs Ventrac vs Kubota L3902

Not sure how long the slopes are you need to cut, but have you considered an offset mower? lets you reach down a bank without getting to close.

How Hard Can a Tractor Pull?

So, here is a great example of what not to do. This guy has no idea what my experience or training is, no idea what safety equipment I was using, or what obstacles were factors in why and how I decided to drop this tree this way did, but feels compelled to launch a personal attack based on his...

How Hard Can a Tractor Pull?

That 28' orange ladder in the background. The pine tree it is leaning on is coming down next, you can see where I limbed it up to about 30 feet. I'll top it, then drag the stick over same as this one.

Just pulled this one over yesterday with a bobcat CT230. I topped it and tied on to the stick about 25 feet up and over it came, it didn't even notice the load

    Never plant Bradford Pear

If you want a flowering tree that will get some size to it, I'll take a Catalpa tree. Some people complain that they are a a messy tree when the bloom and seeds are falling, but the huge leaves and flowers make up for it in my book.

Thinking of making my backhoe attachment towable and usable OFF the tractor!

From what I've seen cost runs from several hundred per tire into the thousands, depending on how big a tire you need. You will need new rims, most likely. I would start by calling some local tractor dealers and talk to them about the pros and cons of float tires. you can also go on the tire...

Thinking of making my backhoe attachment towable and usable OFF the tractor!

If the issue is soft ground what about getting a set of flotation tires for your tractor? It would let you use the tractor anywhere you have water or soft ground.

    CT230 Joystick Hydraulic Valve

Not sure if you are aware but the CT is just a Kioti CK painted white. If you need service or parts find a local Kioti dealer and they should be able to provide everything you need. The CT230 is the same as a CK30.

Exhaust options for my 4’ x 4’ generator shed

If you are going to use a fan, make it an intake fan that draws in fresh air and blows it across the generator. Route the engine exhaust outside and let the vents expel the higher pressure hot air from around the generator.

    How would you fall this?

Start with the simplest and safest options first, then escalate if you have to. Based on the limited information available I would get some straps or chains (not rope) strap to that trunk about 2/3 of the way to the top and try to pull it sideways. if that works you may break enough roots to...

    Buying Advice First Tractor

Start by buying a good tractor, you can always add implements over time. I don't consider a loader an extra, get a tractor with a loader or you will be kicking yourself very soon after you don't. If you are worried about parts and implements, buy an orange, red, green or blue tractor. In other...

    Zero turn mower advice

Nothing wrong with buying used equipment, there are some good deals to be had. What you want to look for in a used mower is the number of hours on the equipment and the maintenance intervals. I have a commercial gravely mower that I bought with about 950 hours on it and about 15 yrs old. the...

Smaller rear tires to lower tractor ROPS so I can fit into my trailer when hauling

Don't overthink the problem or solution. if you have a welder and some basic skills you can fix this pretty easy. You need the tools, a section of square steel tube just big enough to fit over the current rops tube and some hardened pins . Cut the current rops side tubes off about 8-10 inches...

Grapple Sway my grapple decision. Homestead/CTA

Not to confuse the issue but this is the style of grapple I have and it spends about 95% of the time on my FEL. Seized chainsaw

At this point, why it seized, is not your first concern - it did, and you need to fix it before you run it again. time for a teardown and diagnosis. once you get it apart you will be able to figure out how much damage there is and what causes it. Then you can decide if a rebuild is the way to...

    Steering wheel knob placement

Everyone has their own opinions but I wouldn't be without my "suicide knob" when I'm sitting sidewise and blowing snow in reverse. Makes the work so much easier. What is the best way to narrow my 700' gravel drive?

I have about 1000' of gravel drive and have been able to maintain it for the last 10 years with only an adjustable back blade. Only problem is that there was no good base put in when it was made (before my time) so my rock keeps sinking. If it is in the budget I would put down cloth where you...

    New tractor purchase

    Lessons learned the stupid way

My first season with a gravely zero turn mower. I was cutting the sloped bank around around my pond. With all the steering coming from the rear wheels, once gravity grabs that mower deck out front there is pretty much no force in the universe that is going to keep you from become a U-Boat...

What attachments should you use on a tractor to clear land.

Just a couple of questions. How much land do you want to clear, one acre, 10 500? Second what is your timeframe? You can do a lot quickly with big equipment, and you can do a lot with a small tractor, but it's going to be a slower process.

That is an operator that know the limits of his equipment and works right up to them. Lots of discussions about tipping and may reasons he didn't, but i'll add that the disc harrow hanging out to the side is like a kickstand, if he he gets a few degrees farther over, it will ground out and...

Wood gas vehicles: firewood in the fuel tank

I'm not saying you shouldn't try is I'm just saying be prepared to change methods in the middle. The very best gasifiers are reaching just over...

Woods Blower keeps snapping grade 5 bolts

Sounds like a bad batch of bolts. You can also throttle down the idle as low as it will go, press the foot clutch and engage the PTO then ease off the clutch and see if the bolt will hold at min rotation speed. you can throttle up from there and see if they hold.

Buying Advice Is it possible to go too big?

And I'm going to disagree with you on this. I'll bet you don't even remember a time when you didn't know how to operate a tractor. Growing up doing something is very different than learning as an adult, and bigger is only safer if you actually know and understand how to use the equipment you...

Try to think about what you will be doing on a daily/weekly basis with your tractor. you mentioned building a road. that is a big job, but a one time deal. Regret a cab tractor?

I live in Michigan and have an open Tractor that I use year round. The snow blowing can get a little annoying when you have wind blowback, but if you dress properly it is not too bad. How much damage am I likely to have done to my new tractor?

If you are asking what damage you could have done, well you "could" have grenaded the entire mid pto, sheared gears, bent shafts etc. You also "could" win the mega millions lotto, but the likelihood of either is pretty small. If you are asking what is likely to have happened, not much to the...
