I suspect that a lot of people did not see the need for two threads and just posted here for both good tools and tools that suck. (I count myself in that group.) Also, when I buy a cheap, disposable tool I pretty much expect it to suck, so am not surprised when it breaks. It's when I'm...

    Question for electricians

From what I've heard, that's at least part of the issue. Excess heat can shorten the life of electronic components. If it gets hot enough, it can fry them in short order, but temperatures short of that can still shorten the life, and from waht I understand, it can be a cumulative effect...

Anyone try the Holzfforma Fuel/oil container?

Same link (to the Husqvarna store listing), but no price shown. When you click on "See All Buying Options" it shows you a Japanese supplier at $192. Mine came from the United Kingdom. If you wanted to come pick it up, I would sell one to you at my cost. I ordered two: one to donate to a...

That looks like something my brother-in-law would come up with. He's a master of scrounging and quite inventive.

    Hazard lights for TC33d

I missed that Hughman had a DA model. When I browsed through a bunch of the TC33 and TC33D models for sale, they all looked like mine... and more than half of them were missing their lights. I'm familiar with them. When I cracked the clutch housing in two on my tractor a few years ago, the...

    Hazard lights for TC33d

That's interesting. I have never seen a TC33 with the lights mounted that way, nor have I seen one with 4 lights. I assumed they were a custom mount, since the base for the old-style bracket is still there. NH is also usually very insistent that the ROPS not be drilled, yet those lights are...

    Hazard lights for TC33d

Yeah. I might try mounting them something like @Hughman did in his picture in comment #2. Trying to avoid drilling or welding on the ROPS, but I might have to, unless I do something with a U-bolt (or mount it on end using the existing bracket, if that seems strong enough). The boxes are pretty...

    Hazard lights for TC33d

Found these. The box is almost 9" wide, which is more than I'd like, but I suppose they'd work. https://www.amazon.com/Nilight-Trailer-Housing-connectors-Warranty/dp/B08N4LXM7Y?th=1

    Hazard lights for TC33d

Interesting modification. Mine are (or at least were) still on the factory mount. I've debated moving them to the inside of the ROPS, but not sure I like them poking in toward me. I'll probably just come up with some sort of guard around them, though for some of the woods work, I'm...

    Hazard lights for TC33d

Where can I get a good set of replacement hazard lights for a 2001 TC33D? One thing I liked about the original lights was that the base had a sort of spring-loaded flexible mount, so the light fixture could take a hit and just bend over, then bounce back up again. I've finally beaten mine to...

Anyone try the Holzfforma Fuel/oil container?

I ordered two of them back when they dropped to $42. Received in good shape and in just 8 days from the time I ordered. Pretty good, considering they were coming from the UK.

Anyone try the Holzfforma Fuel/oil container?

And dropping yet again... Now down to $36 plus $25.88 shipping = 61.88 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T031DAE?th=1 Order 2 and save $5 each on the shipping (Not sure why, since they ship them in separate packaging.) It still astounds me how the prices swing over such a huge range in just a few...

    Chain sharpening difference?

Agreed. If you look down on the top of the chain, you'll see that the cutter tapers to a narrower width toward the back. As you file back to that point that narrower cutter width means a narrower kerf.

    Chain sharpening difference?

I started out using the clip on guide. It worked well enough, particularly when used in conjunction with a progressive depth gauge tool. I still keep it around nd use it occasionally. 686223,686224 Some years ago, I switched to the roller guide like what you pictured. Works well, and I can see...
