Is a subcompact under 25hp enough power?

I have been using a Kubota BX 1870 for snow and brush mowing. The top link on this size machine can’t handle heavy work like plowing snow in reverse or pushing the brush mower into light thickets. I would have bought an L series had I known that. Ground clearance is also too low. Great tractor...

Insurance Insuring a Ford 1510 FWD with Allied Loader - replacement value

Thank you for your reply. I think you are in the ballpark with your valuation of a 1510. Makes sense. One of the characteristics of the Ford is a high ground clearance over crops in beds. I think it might be difficult to find a modern compact tractor that has such a high ground clearance...

Insurance  Insuring a Ford 1510 FWD with Allied Loader - replacement value

Ford 1510 Will not start cold - need block heater for 1 hour to start

I can't answer all your questions yet, but the first thing I checked was to see if the oil had turned to sludge. Changing the oil is my first task. Since the starter cranks well once the engine block has been heated, I think the battery is "good enough", but I won't assume that. It is an...

Ford 1510 Will not start cold - need block heater for 1 hour to start

Yes, I think so. When I pre-heat them the indicator glows and starting is much easier than if I don't heat them up.

Ford 1510 Will not start cold - need block heater for 1 hour to start

My Ford 1510 will not start cold even in summer. 1 hour on the block heater and everything seems normal. The battery and cranking power appear to be adequate after the block heater warm-up, but cranking is way too slow when the engine is cold. Any ideas? Also I tried pull-starting the tractor...
